2027 PronSIG Materials and Activities Award

In an effort to continue sharing knowledge and innovative practical pronunciation materials and techniques, PronSIG encourages teachers to submit a favourite pronunciation-based exercise, game, or worksheet of their own creation on any pronunciation feature to our 2027 Materials and Activities award.

New for this year!

To continue the celebration of PronSIG’s 40th anniversary, all submissions for this year must relate to our 2026 PCE theme: Lifelong voices: Teaching pronunciation from childhood to seniorhood (for more information, click here). This means, your activity must clearly state (and demonstrate) its use within a specific age group, for example, young learners, teens, university students, working age adults, or senior learners.

What you need to do:

Share your activity plus the following written accompaniment:

  1. Introduce yourself, your students (their age, L1 and language level) and state your objective for using the material/ worksheet etc. For instance, it could be to introduce and practice specific sounds or to raise awareness of stress. (200-250 words)
  2. Provide the worksheet, game or activity and provide step-by-step instructions for teachers to follow. (500 -1000 words)
  3. Evaluate your experience using the materials: what were its strengths and weaknesses? Did you see results faster than you expected? Did it highlight any surprising issues or bring unexpected challenges to you or your students? (750-1000 words)
  4.  Provide a conclusion and make suggestions for any changes that could improve it or if it would be suitable for other age groups. (200-250 words)

What the winning award applicants will receive:

  • A year-long membership to IATEFL with PronSIG as their chosen SIG.
  • Entry into the PronSIG 2027 PCE either virtually or face to face.
  • Publication of their worksheet, game or activity and the accompanying written evaluation in PronSIG’s bi-annual journal Speak Out!

How to apply:

Send the following:

  • your completed activity
