Abstract
Speech recognition has become an integral part of how people communicate, search for information, and interact with technology. As these technologies become increasingly common in language learning (including those embedded in generative AI tools), teachers have new opportunities to integrate them into classroom practice. This webinar explores practical strategies for using speech recognition to support both pronunciation teaching and classroom assessment. Drawing on recent research and classroom examples, participants will examine how speech recognition can provide meaningful feedback, inform assessment decisions, and promote pronunciation development, while also considering best practices and current limitations for effective implementation.
